With all the sweats all over our body, and the dirt that kissed our very virgin skin (kidding). We arrive in Laoag HAPPY. Our rendezvous with Kuya Arnel is in Marcos Museum. Since he is not there yet, we explore the place. Funny thing is… we did not know there is a 50php Entrance. So we have that tour for free. 😉 😉 We went inside Marcos Mausoleum. Once you get inside, the smell of formalin or death will welcome you. Cameras are not allowed inside. So we don’t have any picture.
Kuya Arnel texted us that he just arrived.
By the way we are renting the van for 2 days. The original rental was for 7000php. I am not good at haggling; however our molah is kinda very limited. So we haggle the best as we can, and since we are only four, it would be beneficial for us if we have a lesser rental. And because we are VERY charismatic …4000php was the agreed amount. Pat in the back for us!
First stop …. Paoay Church
The Church of Saint Augustine, commonly known as the Paoay Church, is the Roman Catholic parish church of the municipality of Paoay, Ilocos Norte in the Philippines. The architectural structure of this church is beyond amazing and its one of the best examples of the Baroque Churches in the Philippines. The place reminds me of Old Victorian era, with the bell tower and the buttress and all. It is something you can say that “I’ve been there”.
Some of the pictures I got inside and outside the church.
The bell tower beside the church. Such a beauty.
Eerie…i know…there was a wedding when we got there…i thought this is a good shot.:)
And then there’s us!
Next stop is Paoay Lake
Another prominent feature of the municipality is Paoay Lake. Legend has it that it was the site of a prosperous barangay called San Juan de Sahagun (Saint John of Sahagun). The materialism of its people has angered God so He sent an earthquake that sank the town.
I wonder what’s below that serene and quite water…on second thought..i’d rather not wonder…ehhehe..i dont like dark waters..it gives me the idea that there are sharks…even on lakes…:P
Around 2pm Manong driver suggested that we go to Marcos Mansion or the Malacañang of the North.
Here you will see the Lush green garden and the very old mansion of the Marcoses. Old is an understatement. Because the place was well preserved, you cannot distinguish if it’s very old, old or it was built recently. And the place is really airy, the windows are big and if I have the option to stay here, I’ll stay.
my ever game Tl Bopie..:) always ready! ehehehe….this is the front side of the mansion.
The Grand Staircase…
some of the decorations that catches my eyes.
This is the view of the lawn infront of the mansion.
I believe this is their dining hall…ehehehe…
This is the back terrace..you can see the Paoay lake from here.
The back facade.
This is found outside. They have this for visitors.
These are truly amazing photo shots. These pictures are located on the second floor. There was this mini museaum. It was funny at first. But when you try to look within the picture, you will realize there is something. That something…. you need to find out yourself. You know PICTURE CAN TELL A THOUSAND WORDS. I just love this pictures. It’s so glamorous and all. 🙂
This was one of the best painting I have seen inside the mansion. It is so elaborate and old..eheheheh
